Help plant a tree! Every dollar matched by the Dunn Family Foundation
Heartland Tree Alliance (HTA) has launched a digital approach to funding tree planting that will help Excelsior Springs with

urban tree planting projects. The Dunn Family Foundation has agreed to match every donation -- dollar for dollar -- that residents make to the online tree fund up to $10,000. Click here to find out more about this program and how you can help!

The City of Excelsior Springs welcomes and encourages Special Events
A Special Event is any activity that occurs upon public or private property that affects the ordinary use of parks, public streets, right-of-ways or sidewalks. Individuals or groups wishing to hold events on public properpty within the city limits must obtain a Special Event permit. Click here for more information and application.

Senior Center volunteer opportunities
The Excelsior Springs Senior Center is a place where older adults (60 and older) and physically challenged individuals (ages 18-59) come to socialize, participate in activities and enjoy a hot, nutrious meal. OUR MISSION
The Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation Department shall provide parkland and recreational activities for the community.

OUR HISTORY
In the early part of the twentieth century, most cities which were involved with planning for a city-wide park system were much larger than Excelsior Springs. The parks were usually developed with the thought of benefiting the local citizenry.
Excelsior Springs, however, was not a typical community. The development of the parks were integral with the promotion of the mineral water system. The history of Excelsior Springs park system is a reflection of the city's unique history and development.

Excelsior Springs will be celebrating Park & Recreation Month during July
July is Parks and Recreation Month and we invite you to have fun and get active outside in July. Pick up a Parks and Rec Passport and get it stamped at any activity that has a * by it.

Free Storytime in the Park and Art in the Park
Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation will host Storytime in the Park, along with Mid-Continent Public Library on Thursdays in June and July. Art in the Park, sponsored by Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation will be held on Tuesday in June and July. Click here for more information and schedules.

Hwy. 10 bridge replacement will disrupt access to
Fishing River Linear Park Trail

During the Hwy. 10 bridge replacement, there will be certain sections of the trail that will be closed due to construction. For more details and map, click here.
